Because man, thare has GOT to be something better than this! ;-)

Ok, so we've all got to get up out of bed in the morning and go earn a living, but do you love the work you do? Why even Brad has to go to work, or that spiffy Jag he just bought goes back to the dealership, and that would be sad for those of us who live vicariously[?] through him.

But I digress. Do you love the work you do, if not what would you like to be doing? And try to be realistic.

Myself for example, I work as a clerk in a civil service job. It pays the bills, but I would love to have a job working in computer animation. Especially after I saw The Incredibles!

I would not want to do anything else..I actually have fun at work..It's dangerous and a "Rough Sport".. but it also gives me a real sense of accomplishment when the day is done..
Also..Driving down the freeways I can point to what I have done years after my work is completed.

I am a carpenter and building homes/schools/malls ..etc..etc.. is, in my opinion..awesome!
Of course you cant get rich in my trade, it's mostly "Feast or Phamon" never seems to be a happy medium..
Although, working outdoors, and never in the same location for long, and leaving "Something" usually where there had been "Nothing" is pretty satisfying.

The flip side of that coin is simply..there is too much building!..all of our hills, valleys and land seems to be sprouting homes..when will it end!..::laughs and sighs:: that is my only delema with the trade..it is sad to see entire valleys taken over by neighborhoods...but then, it is what I do for a living...

Zero.

"Feast or Phamon"

Being self employed, I understand feast or famine, but I'm not sure about phamon....

Yes, I like what I do to earn a living...... most of the time.

Do I like my job? Depends on what day you ask.

My answer exactly. Some days I'm okay with it, other days I want to chuck my badge across the room, announce I'm quitting, and head out the door.

At this point I wish I had a job. I've been unemployed since December of last year. I'm out looking for work now. Hopefully things will get better soon.

I've also been in this situation, so I know how stressful it can be. Best of luck in finding a new job.

Apologies Koasati..in either case it means starving for me..::laughs::
Usually happens most often during the winter months... Unless you abide by the "Put away for a rainy day" method..Winters can be pretty tough..

Congratulations on the new gig SD
I've found that it's all attitude at work. A good attitude can infect the people around you, and makes the day much more enjoyable. If I "really" hated my job I'd have to change, even if it meant making less money. Money is overrated.

The current one is that I enjoy the most from the past 5 jobs I ever had.
Line manager of 10 telco engineers working with systems integration and system support. Also involved in operative issues, just have analyzed a 120 meg IP trace from a live mobile network, and took part in redesigning partial system architecture. I set the balance for myself in managing the group and getting involved in engineering issues. The group is prospering nicely. Some of the experts with great 'can do' attitude are inspiring the rest of the group. Until there are scandals, I have full independence. If I show control in scandals I have full independence.
(Though I can't afford a loan to buy a house with a 1 and a 3 year old daughter while my wife's on 3 years' maternity leave, so I could imagine the same with improved math )
